The Brief: I am going to produce a folder/book of 5-6 mini briefs that I can use within a classroom for students years 7-11. I am doing a PGCE course next year and want to have a folder of project ideas to show my mentors for next year that I am able to design projects and lesson plans.

The Brief: I am going to produce a folder/book of 5-6 mini briefs that I can use within a classroom for students years 7-11. I am doing a PGCE course next year and want to have a folder of project ideas to show my mentors for next year that I am able to design projects and lesson plans. The briefs are going to be designed to give students the knowledge of being a Graphic Designer. The aim of my projects are to give students the confidence in working within the school workshop which will prepare them for GCSE or A Levels. I have been working on the current briefs for years 7-11 at Fulston Manor school where I do work experience. This has helped me to understand school projects, how they are run, what the outcome should be and also what is required from a teacher to ensure that the projects run smoothly.
The projects I have come up with, are: • Package your personality • Package a given emotion • Design your own identity and stationery • Make your own burger from the future • Produce a travel brochure for your favourite holiday or place • Produce a mini magazine on your favourite topic
A lot of my research has come from the existing projects from Fulston. • Brief description of the project • Project length • Main assessment strands are • Area of study • Learning objectives for each lesson • Key words • Resources • Possible teaching activities • What the outcomes should be • What the homework would be
The possible software that will be used for these projects are: • CAD CAM • 2D Design Tools • Photoshop • In Design (May not be able to use in the school) • Lazer cutter • Students and I will have to consider typography, graphics, illustrations, colour, layout etc
I intend to finalise these briefs • get them check by the school see if they will work • Continue with the projects myself • test them on students
