NSW AIM FRBUtilization Discussion Karen Pohl Curriculum Systems Director Naval Special Warfare Center 12-14 May, 2009 Orlando, FL
Discussion Points • Use of traditional AIM I/II LP/TG content • Including estimated hours of content & estimated number of courses • Electronic classroom and ILT delivery • JTA/NJA data and process • Other comments
Use of Traditional AIM II LP/TG Content • Currently ≈ 42 ILT legacy 130A courses • ≈ 7400 hours • Have not used to build SCORM/RLO • Most are high risk courses • Implementation issues • Multiple databases (geographic locations) • Expecting considerable growth
Electronic Classroom and ILT Delivery • Limited use – most instruction in field • Display graphic media • Need more infrastructure to support blended delivery • Define requirements for SOCOM sponsorship • TYCOM roadmap • Expected growth will drive infrasturcture
JTA/NJA Data and Process • JTA/NJA still pending release (CENSEALSWCC) • Undergoing BUD/S pipeline review • Outcome should facilitate JTA/JMETL/NMETL alignment to NLOS
Innovations on Traditional Model • SOCOM ETMDS study • Delivery and tracking of ILT via SOCOM LMS • Authoring support for DL • Blended formats where appropriate • ILE projects - Future • CPM/LO Module use
Unique AIM Implementation • SOCOM vs. NETC • Balancing requirements/business rules • Slave to multiple lords OR choose between two worlds! Karen Pohl Curriculum Systems Director Naval Special Warfare Center DSN: 577-5522 Email: karen.pohl@navsoc.navy.mil
