Science Fairs • National Taiwan Science Education Center organizes National Primary & High School Science Fair(NPHSSF) and Taiwan International Science Fair(TISF) • Most funding comes from the government, also received funding from Intel, KT Lee Foundation for science & technology, GFC & TDK Corporation • 183 students, 121 projects from 11 countries participating at 2009 TISF
Science Fairs Biggest obstacles • Insufficient government support & funding • Good quality of projects, involve research & experimentation • Low participants ratio compared to the populations of students • Schools focus on academic performance & exams, in general teaching practices do not support project based learning
