FiDeL - task force 17 April 2008
Why a crisis now ? • The AB-OP team (LSA) runs the commissioning with the theoretical transfer functions derived from the layout file • Constant B/I • Wrong values by several % • The errors (dipoles) are not modeled • Circuit parametrization is requested for now, only NS is working on this
How to get out of the blues • Jump to the objective • Use the present data structure (not complete, not completely coherent) • Split the magnets in families (see table) • Assign a responsible and cognizable person to each family, who • Looks for the data (wherever the data is, in whichever form) and sorts it • Models the data to extract fit parameters • Judges whether the fit is appropriate/stable/good • Tests the model • Provides as a result the set of parameters in the presently defined format to AB-OP who centralizes this result
Packages of work • Each package requires about 3 pmw • Excel tool for model evaluation: PH • MB: NS • MQ: TBD • MQM: NCL (help from WVD for the data) • MQY: NCL (help from WVD for the data) • D1…D4: JM • MQX: ET • MQW: GdR ? - data provided by MB • MBW MBXW, MCBW: TBD - data provided by MB • Correctors: VR+RW (internal split) (help from WVD for the data) • Dynamic model: NS • Book-keeping of data, www page: LD • Cycling specification: RW+GD
Background tasks • Complete the data validation, correction when necessary, indexing and storage. Coordinated by RW • Define and execute dedicated measurement programs. Coordinated by AV • Snap-back correlation with FAME • Tracking re-test (LSA validation, b3/B2 tracking in SSS) • Low current and cycle dependence for MQM and MQY (vertical and horizontal)
