Columbian Exchange: Europeans send livestock, grains to the Americas (along with new diseases) Columbian Exchange • Europe gets corn, cacao and tobacco in exchange
Spanish America • Spaniards raped many native women, new race of people born (Mestizo) • Conquistadors goal was to 1) conquer native people, 2) get gold & silver 3) spread Christianity • Native people forced into farming, ranching & mining • Most forced into Christianity (mission system)
