  4. AIMS Site Test Coordinator Responsible for • Correct administration of testing at school site • Providing test training for all test administrators • Organizing, distributing, and collecting all test materials • Keeping Cindy Hurley apprised of any testing issues that arise

Test Security • Site Test Coordinator must establish and • enforce test security procedures that comply with • the Test Security Agreement and the State Board • of Education Rules • All school personnel who will have access to the AIMS • or Stanford 10 test materials must sign a • Test Security Agreement • Security agreements are to be filed for 6 years • at the school site • The Principal’s security agreement is brought • to Cindy Hurley at time of material Check-In

  6. Delivery of Materials To School Sites • April Testing • AIMS HS • Mathematics/Science • Stanford 10 • March 18 – 21 to District • March 21– 22 to Sites • February Testing • AIMS HS • Writing/Reading • February 4 –7 to District • February 8 or 11 to sites

School packing list: As soon as receive materials, open Box 1 (white) Verify that the materials as shown on the packing list are enough to cover your needs Email any shortages to Cindy by Feb. 12 4 PM (W & R) Apr. 2 Noon (M, Sci, Stan) When individual packages are opened, confirm the number of actual documents or books Note any discrepancies on the packing list. 6 Discrepancies - Package had 6 test books

  9. Inventorying Test Materials • Maintain an accurate inventory of all materials and some kind of check-in and check-out system • Test books and answer documents are to be stored in a secure location at all times – not in classrooms overnight

  10. AIMS HS Form T Can only be used for the Make-Up Test Dates for Writing, Reading, and Mathematics As soon as you know how many make-ups you will need, email Cindy with your counts. No guessing. First come first serve T-forms can not be ordered from Pearson … we have what we have

  11. Regular Test Date Vs. Make-up • Students and parents need to understand there is ONE test date. • Make-up day is not an option day… it is a day for someone who truly was sick or had an emergency • Do no advertise the make-up dates and push for everyone to test on the 1st testing date • If there are not enough tests for make-ups you will need to prioritize: #1 10th graders (for accountability) #2 12th graders who have not passed #3 11th graders who have not passed #4 Meets to Exceeds for Tuition Waiver for those who signed-up #5 For other Meets to Exceeds

  12. Cohorts Student’s cohort is used to determine if a student is eligible to test on AIMS HS.

  14. HS Students to be Tested Not required to pass the science test in order to graduate from high school

  15. Stanford 10 Stanford 10 is given on any one or two days (school decision) from April 9 – 12

Other Students that May Test • Home School • Private School • Completer Students Do Not Fill in the SAIS Box, instead under Student ID grid, fill in their home phone number, 520-###-#### Also, must mark the not enrolled bubble on back of answer document It is the responsibility of the school to send student reports or notify parents of the not enrolled student.

  21. Prepare Test Rooms All other visual aids displayed in the testing room that could assist students while testing must be removed or covered completely.

  22. Authorized Resources to be Available • Dictionaries and thesauri must be available for the prompt section of the AIMS Writing tests • These resources are not permitted during any other testing session • Translation dictionaries must be available for ELLs and FEP year 1and 2

Cell Phones • Cell phones are not permitted, even during stretch breaks. • Students must remove and be told to remove cell phones from their person • Back packs should be placed in front of room and not by student desk • It is against testing protocol to use a cell phone during testing and if breached, student test is subject to invalidattion • Only Cindy per ADE can determine if a test will be invalidated

Test Administrators who observe students using unacceptable resources are to remove the unacceptable resources as soon as possible All students must be allowed to continue to test After testing is completed, Cindy Hurley must be notified to determine if an incident report needs to be submitted

Verify number of materials received Each Day of Test Test Books/Answer Documents are distributed according to procedures set by site test coordinator Each Day Immediately after testing Return Test Books/Answer Documents according to procedures set by site test coordinator Test Administrator should count number of test books and answer documents received. When Test Administrator returns materials, Test Coordinator should verify number of test books and answer documents that have been returned. Secure Room

  26. High School Test Administrators must follow the directions exactly as stated in the Test Administration Directions Student must complete this section

  28. Disruptive Students • Whenever possible, the disruptive or misbehaving student should be moved to another location • Students must be allowed to continue to test • Incident Report must be submitted to ADE for any cheating incident

  29. Students do not leave the room during stretch breaks BREAKS

  30. Students Who Need Extra Time • Students who need additional time beyond the allotted testing time must be allowed to finish testing • Students should be escorted to the room designated for extended time • Students may not go to lunch, instead must have their lunch brought to the designated room • Student should remain in the secure testing environment while eating and resume testing after they have eaten

  32. All Test Administrators must read and be familiar with: Testing Accommodations: Guidelines for 2012-2013

Universal Accommodations • Universal test administration conditions that are in a student’s IEP or 504 are not considered testing accommodations so do not need to be marked in Box K of the answer document • May be offered to any student in order to provide a comfortable and distraction-free testing environment

  35. Standard Accommodations Standard accommodations are available to: • Students with certain injuries • English Language Learners • FEP Year 1 and Year 2 students • Students with an IEP or 504 plan

Recording Accommodations • Test administrators must record the use of standard accommodations in section K of the AIMS demographic data grid on the student answer document (see next slide) • Detailed directions for marking the use of standard accommodations is on pages 46-47 of the Test Administration Directions.

  38. Students with Pre-ID Labels When there is a label, nothing is bubbled in except Box K for accommodations when appropriate

  39. Student Bar Code Labels The content area on the Pre-ID label must match the content area of the answer document.

  40. Incorrect Pre-ID Labels

  41. For Incorrect Labeling • DO NOT attempt to remove the label • NEVER EVER black out the label INSTEAD: • Cover the incorrect pre-ID label with a blank white label. Then hand bubble the correct student information on the back of the answer document

  42. As Students Finish Testing • As Students finish testing – • They should raise their hand • Verify they have filled out their name and school on the front of answer document • They must sign that they have turned in their tests • Test materials should be collected

  43. As Students Finish Testing • Students are to remain quiet until the end of the testing session • Students may read or do class work silently while waiting for the scheduled test session to end • Electronic devices may not be used during this time

Transferring Student Responses • Students who tested using a Braille or large print version of the test must have their responses transferred to a standard answer document by an adult • Students who used any assistive technology must have their responses transferred to a standard answer by an adult

  46. Special Circumstances Contaminated Materials • Do not return test materials contaminated with blood, vomit, or other bodily fluids • Transfer student responses to a clean answer document • Destroy contaminated test materials securely at school
