General Objective To impart a greater sense of awareness among employees of the security threat to the Port Facility
Specific Objectives • To raise the awareness among employees of the security threat from the seaward approaches to the Port Facility • To practice security staff in the procedures for handling persons deemed to be engaged in undesirable or suspicious activity on board vessels approaching the Port Facility • Meet or better the specified benchmark response times for this drill.
Required Attainments • Security staff will be able to: • Detect vessels approaching the Port Facility from seaward • Recognise undesirable or suspicious activity by persons on board vessels approaching the Port Facility • Interdict undesirable activity that may be detrimental to the Port Facility
Control Team • Chief Controller: PFSO, Mr. AAA
Scenario • A terrorist cell is planning an attack on port installations • They intend to conduct seaward surveillance of potential targets • All security personnel are to be especially vigilant over this period
Communications • Telephone • Walkie-Talkie • Mobile phone – please exchange mobile numbers by xxxx hrs.
Safety • Safety Officer: • Physical safety of personnel is paramount • There is to be no physical contact between participants and controllers acting as intruders, etc. • Security staff are not to use abusive language when talking to controllers acting as “bogeyman” • Do not neglect the safety of equipment
