  2. You are not alone You are not the sole person responsible Incorporate Aboriginal Health into mainstream Division program activity This is a population health program not a disease specific program

  3. Whole of organisation approach Aboriginal Health - standing agenda item at both Board and Division staff meetings Cultural awareness training for all Division Board and staff GP advisory committees – is CTG on their agenda – do you have an advisory group?

  4. What are the other programs doing in Aboriginal Health? Determine if other Division programs are already addressing Aboriginal Health issues: • Antenatal Shared Care • Immunisation • Chronic Disease Management • Diabetes prevention and management • Lifestyle Modification Programs • Mental Health – ATAPS, Shared Care, MHNs • Aged Care Access Initiative • AGPN Rural Palliative Care Projects

  5. What are other programs doing? Embed Aboriginal Health as a key element of the Division’s practice support role: • Accreditation • Practice Management Support • Information technology and management • Australian Primary Care Collaboratives

  6. CPD events and programs Include Aboriginal Health into every CPD activity across all programs: • Case studies • Guest speakers from the community • Clinical leaders from other health services • Updates from Board members at CPD events

  7. Communications Include Aboriginal Health into every communication activity across all programs: • Promote CTG through the different sections of your Division website, newsletters, mail-outs, fax-outs, emails • Promote CTG at Division AGMs and board meetings
