Intention Aim or purpose- a reader’s intention is what he or she want s to happen as a result of the text, what they want the audience to believe or do after hearing or reading the text. Part of successful writing process- ability to take a topic and discover an aim through the exploration of ideas and evidence. Intention
Genre Writer’s want to accomplish an aim and readers want to discover an intention; therefore, every write chooses a certain type of text Ex: a poem, a lab report, a convincing letter, a five paragraph essay (this is a great genre for students when they have to write a timed, improtu essay for a test but not the only genre students should learn to produce) Genre
