Advantages • E-education • Access to Web-based resources • Centralized storage and maintenance • Collaboration mechanisms • The possibility of saving large amounts of money • The improvement of learning • The learner • Sets his own pace and schedule • Gets better access to the instructor • The training adapts to the learner and not the other way around • Feedback is immediately provided • The educators • The possibility to teach from anywhere • Decreased number of travels • Saving time and energy
Disadvantages • E-Learning • much lager dropout rate in the case of the e-learning courses • The learners • Are required a greater effort • Develop the fear of losing human contact • The need for suitable equipment • The educator • It requires more work from the part of the instructor • It takes more time to convert the classic courses into e-learning technology
Mpro - Project management course • The Portal is used for • communication (Homepage, Calendar, Chat, Discussions, and Messages) • learning (Courses, Downloads) • evaluation (Exams, Grades) • feedback (Surveys, Statistics) • administration (Tasks, Classrooms, Administration, Options)
1. Learning • The learner is the heart of the educational system • Students can access this Portal anywhere - anytime through the Internet connection • To have access to the Virtual Campus the user receives a password and a username • The Courses are designed using the e-Learning technology • Are available on-line, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for each student who has a username and a password • The “Downloads” section is used in posting useful files that contain additional information to the courses
2. Training • A kick-off meeting takes place • schedule for the following tutorial meetings • their usernames and passwords • The course lasts for six weeks and tutorial meetings are held on a weekly basis • Specific homework, both individual and team-oriented • A trainer conducts the discussions
