  2. Early Life • Ponce de Leon was born on 1460. • In 1492 he served the military. • In 1493 he went to an island in South Florida with Christopher Columbus.

  3. Governor • In 1509 he was governor of Puerto Rico . • He was also governor of an island Hispanic.

  4. Late Life • In 1513 of March he was looking for the island Hispanic. • He landed in Mainland of North America.

  5. Late Life • He sailed back to North America and called it island Florida. • Island Florida means flowery in Spanish. • He sailed back to Bimini in February of 1521. .

  6. Death • They landed in Florida and met Native Americans. • The Native Americans shot arrows at them. • He died from wounds.
