  3. WHAT ARE MY DUTIES AS A MEMBER OF THIS BOARD? All board members and staff need to be aware of and comply with the three legal fiduciary duties related to their work: Duty of Care Duty of Loyalty Duty of Obedience www.IowaCommunityAction.org

WHAT ARE MY DUTIES AS A MEMBER OF THIS BOARD? • Authority of the Board of Directors • Legally responsible for agency activities • Policies and Strategic Direction • Board approves and delegates • Board Member Conflict of Interest (O.S. 5.6) • Set aside personal interests for the benefit of the agency and those we serve • Conflicting interests can be financial, professional, personal relationships, status or power www.IowaCommunityAction.org
