Testing Delivery Success Stories • Euromax: This project ramped up from 2 resources in April 2006 to the current position of 20 people working between onsite and offshore. Zensar has participated in System Integration Testing (SIT) for this project along with Development Consortium and Euromax. We have been conducting Business Acceptance Testing for various releases from the Development Consortium. The annual revenue for this project will be $1.2M. • Cisco Configuration and Ordering Experience (COE): We won this project in the face of competition from Infosys. We have successfully completed up to Iteration 1 of Phase 0 for this testing only project. The peak team size was 22 resources. The project is an Agile Testing project with its challenges of weekly releases and changing requirements. The team was 50% onsite and 50% offshore. Going forward the offshore component is expected to increase. Revenue from this project so far has been $0.5M. • Oracle Apps Regression Automation: We have completed two pilots for automating selected regression test cases for Ordering Management modules of Oracle Apps. The customers are Oxy and Fluke. Many customers have shown interest in this regression testing and we are expecting a business of at least 20 people in this area. SPSS, TELMAR, Danaher group companies, Oxy, Logitec and Thought Digital customers are some of the interested prospects. • Onsite engagements: We were able to quickly provide the right resources for some key overseas engagements at a short notice and these engagements are going well. Some names are – Volks Wagon (UK), Nice (Finland), Comsuper (Fujitsu, Australia), Investec Risk Division (South Africa), MAPON (Japan) • M&S testing ramp up: Testing resources have ramped up in M&S ODC substantially. Major requirements in testing are in IRS project and Buying areas • Internal System and Smartshop performance testing: TCoE has conducted performance testing for Internal Applications and Smartshop product. This has helped the development teams understand performance issues. • Performance testing for TOGA, National Grid project: OPEN SPA, an open source performance testing tool is used to test the performance of TOGA application. Performance requirements are defined as acceptance criteria for this project. National Grid was not ale to procure/share their Load Runner license and Zensar has proactively offered to use an open source tool to carry out performance testing activity
EAS • Fujitsu Zircon: This was roll out of Oracle Apps in 7-8 European countries. We had a team of 4 technical consultants (average team size) working on this from offshore for more than 1 year. Team was involved in custom development, enhancements and customizations. Fujitsu CSS rating for Zensar team was 4.35. This fetched billing of about US$ 200K. This project was managed by Shriprasad Kale. We also managed (visa issues) to send 2 functional consultants to join Fujitsu’s onsite team. 1 continued till successful go-live. • Fujitsu CAFOS: This is 3rd successful year of Fujitsu’s internal Oracle Apps support (Technical, Functional and DBA). SLA compliance has been near 100% and ratings have consistently been in the range of 4. Initially we began with team of 3 (1 functional, 1 technical and 1 DBA). Initially we began with UK only. After Zircon go-live, we took over support of all 8 European countries and doubled the team (2 functional, 2 technical and merged DBA into RemoteDBA shared service). This is fetching annuity revenue of about US$ 440K. This project is being managed by Mandar Soman. • RemoteDBA: This has been a tough service to manage due to challenges on resourcing front. At times, we were running 24*7 operation with 4-5 DBAs. In spite of this, we were successful in deliveries. Edexcel, Fujitsu are with us for quite some time and are happy customers. Added SPSS, Waco this year. Zensar also have been a happy customer (Anand Mitkari’s rating for team’s involvement in Zenapps has been 4). Thanks a lot to the team for working hard during tough days. This group has fetched revenue of about US$ 342K. This group is being managed by Girish Hatkar.
Success Stories in Investec ODC • Investec ODC has taken over the support of Retail Forex(RFS), Rewards and Sales Management effective Nov 2006 from an external vendor with whom IPB had expressed dissatisfaction. The support consists of Production, Application support and small enhancements. IPB has expressed their satisfaction on the performance of our team in last four months. This success can be seen as stepping stone for Zensar to capitalize our foot in other areas in Private bank. . We have cleared some defects which were pending for almost more than a year and this has given IPB more confidence and faith on Zensar’s capability. • There was a concern raised by IPB for slow response of Online banking application especially during month end processes. Zensar published approach paper to take up performance enhancement in phases. The main focus was on SQL tuning. There was significant improvement in performance after implementation of all 4 phases. Now the application is stable and much faster even during month end process.
Retail Technologies • Got a signoff on milestone#1 of the second Oracle Retail project from Landmark Dubai (worth 300K) for their Emax (electronics stores) concept.. The first project (of 1.8M) is also going on well so far.. • This team (for EMax) is completely made up of people with background from PONL, Supply Chain ERP, Retek Technical, Retail Operations and all of them went thru an average of 2 months training before they were sent across as “Retail Business Analysts cum Oracle Retail Functional”.. • The billing rate on an average is 40-50% higher than Ora. Apps rates. The cost of these people are in general 20-30% lower than Ora.Apps talent (of similar experience)..
EAS Success stories • Symantec OASIS project – Project OASIS was part of larger initiative to amalgamate Veritas Software into Symantec that involved migration of functionality and data from Veritas Oracle ERP to Symantec Oracle ERP. Zensar worked on migration of RICE (Report, Interface, Customization / Conversion, Extension) components from Veritas to Symantec ERP instance. Zensar team peak was 40+ and the project was delivered on time in spite of additional 40% work got added to original scope. The project involved working with very high data volumes and situations where there was limited or no documentation available for Veritas components. Since the integration process was evolving as the project moved along, there were frequent design changes that the team had to accommodate. The entire project was delivered out of customer locations both in Pune and in the US. • Activision Inc. – • Benelux roll-out project – Zensar delivered the Benelux roll-out that involved integration with WMS modules and interfacing of hand held devices for bar code reading. Since the region was small customer worked on the functional implementation while our team delivered the entire technical bit that included reports, conversions, and extensions. • Activision APAC re-implementation – Zensar did the re-implementation of Oracle Applications from 11.0.3 to latest release 11.5.10 CU2. The entire application has been supported by us from offshore for more than 2 years. This involves developing new functionalities and providing user support for Activision UK. • Gymboree Corporation Upgrade – Gymboree Corporation is a family of specialty retail brands selling clothes and accessories for kids. The entire implementation was driven by customer while our team had to perform balancing act managing customer’s Us team and India team. Earlier the finance implementation was done by Rapidigm and customer was not at all happy with Rapidigm. In spite of being an older version of Oracle, our team has done a very good in these implementations. • American Sorting Goods – ASG is in to sports goods and accessories.
