  1. TG Strategic Plan Document Discussion John Towns TeraGrid Forum Chair Director, Persistent Infrastructure NCSA

  2. Current State • Document developed via collaboration and consensus during CY2008 • required to complete spending restrictions imposed by NSF • Further input from the SAB was solicited and incorporated as appropriate into the dcument. • Document reviewed and accepted by TG participants at this point

  3. Thoughts and Discussion Items • What is impact to be at this point? • changes now will not be easily incorporated into the PY5 planning process • Is this an XD strategic planning process? • if so, it is beyond the scope of TG • still could be within purview of SAB • What more should be included in the document at this point? • From Nov 24 Discussion: • SWOT analysis not evident – particularly opportunities • would be useful to emphasize communicating successes to NSF and broader community • how do we measure the impact of science highlights etc…? • can we communicate using the deep open wide model? • how do we communicate within NSF? • example – meeting at NSF w/ directorates being invited • how will we measure progress on goals of strategic plan?
