INDIVIDUAL WRITING PRACTICE • Prompt: You are a finalist for a contest to travel abroad to Madrid, Spain! The final step of the application is writing a letter convincing the judges to choose you. In your letter include the following plus any other details you would like to include: • Your name • Your age • Where you are from • What you like to do in your free time (at least 2 activities) • Places you like to go in your free time with your friends and what you do at those places (at least two places) • 2 things that you “want” to buy when you are in Madrid and how much you think they cost • 2 articles of clothing you are going to pack to take with you
PARTNER WORK- SPEAKING PRACITCE On the next screen you will see a speaking prompt. You will all have 1 minute to prepare to speak to your partner answering the prompt (you can take notes) You will have 2 minutes each to give your answers You will grade each other based on the speaking rubric

You are planning to go and want to invite a classmate so you give him/her a call, but they don’t answer. Leave a voicemail for your friend to tell them about the game and to invite them to go with you. Remember to include the following plus any other details you would like to add: • Your name • When and where the game will take place • Who will be there with you (What other friends are going?) • An invitation for your friend to go to the game • How much the game costs • What they should wear (based on the weather)
