  2. The purpose of a double page spread is to inform the reader about artists and what they are up to. The large font is used to draw attention to the text, which is a quote from the feature to entice readers into finding more out about it. The picture of Corey Taylor is used to attract fans of him and his band as he is no longer wearing a mask (which he does with his band, Slipknot) but in fact in this picture he is wearing casual clothes, a flat cap (which suggests a very common looking person) which shows a personal side to him. He is holding envelopes from fans that have wrote to him, showing that not only is he very responsive to fans, he fully embraces and shows them off. There is a school theme on this feature as the background of the page is used to look like a school book which shows another personal aspect of Corey Taylor’s life. The different colour and sized font is used to emphasis the text and draw attention the content.
