Ideas • From what I have looked at there a few regular conventions that most magazines employ. Most of which are on the contents page. Some of these I would like to use: • Obviously the contents page still has to fulfil it’s purpose. I want to make sure there are plenty of stories on the page. • Issue. Date. I like the professionalism these add. • Image. I want a big eye catching photo, even just for the contents page. Then fit the information around them. I think seeing a good photo on a contents page says that the magazine wants top quality on EVERY page. I think this is a good selling point. • I want to try keep a theme consistent that will match my cover. Maybe the use of similar colours.
Ideas • I want my DPS to be slightly different to my contents and cover. I want the entire DPS to be a photo with text on and integrated with the image. • If that isn’t possible, I want to go with the half text half image style DPS. • I think a DPS with an image of a live musical performance would be perfect for my magazine. Taking this photo however, is another matter. • I think page numbers shall still be included. Also I want a bold heading with a smaller sub heading followed by even smaller text. • The only things consistent with the other magazine pages will be the font. • The smaller text should be block paragraphs to make it easier to read. And will hopefully travel around the edges and bottom of the image.
