Recommendations for Immediate Action: Adjust the nomination, selection and announcement process Improve the process to ‘call for nominations’ Change the timeline so announcements are ready by January Have the nominating societies assist with the awardees write-ups Improve the announcement process Raise the Level of Festivity AAESRaising the Profile of the Awards Banquet

Recommendations Requiring Additional Consideration: Raise visibility and festivity Send special Invitations: Government and Industry Secure sponsorships Change the presentation format Review the criteria of each award for relevance Remove the AAES member org restriction for nominations AAESRaising the Profile of the Awards Banquet

Recommended Actions The committee recommends that: 1) the Chair direct the Nominating Committee to implement recommendations 1A and 1B for the awards to be presented in May 2012; and the Chair considers expanding the current committee or creating a new committee to consider recommendations 2A through 2D further.
