QUARTERLY PRE/POST TEST • EVERY TEACHER WILL GIVE A PRE TEST AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MARKING PERIOD • THE TEACHER WILL HAVE A GRID TO COMPLETE SHOWING THE INSTRUCTIONAL INTERVENTIONS THEY HAVE USED TO ASSIST STUDENTS IN MASTERING THE CONTENT • STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE SAME TEST AT THE END OF THE MARKING PERIOD
STANDARDS ALIGNED CURRICULUM MAPS • EVERY TEACHER HAS DEVELOPED A CURRICULUM MAP FOR EACH COURSE HE/SHE TEACHES. • THE CURRICULUM MAPS ARE ALIGNED WITH THE STANDARDS ASSOCIATED WITH CONTENT ON THE PSSA’S • THE CURRICULUM MAPS CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE UNDER CURRICULUM
“CATCH UP DAY” • EVERY TEACHER WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH ONCE A WEEK OR TWICE A MONTH OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONTENT • 11TH GRADE MATH STUDENTS WILL PARTICPATE IN A PROGRAM FEATURING 28 MINI-LESSONS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE MATERIAL FOUND ON THE PSSA MATH TEST
STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS • LAST YEAR MR. GESUALDI INSTITUTED A PLAN TO PROVIDE ADDITONAL ACADEMIC SUPPORT TO IEP STUDENTS • THIS YEAR THE SUPPORT CLASSES WILL FOCUS ON SPECIFIC AREAS OF MATH AND READING TO ADDRESS AREAS OF CONCERN
TRANSIENT STUDENTS • ALL STUDENTS NEW TO THE DISTRICT WILL TAKE THE QUARTERLY EXAM FOR THEIR NEW MATH AND READING COURSE • INFORMATION FROM THE EXAMS WILL BE USED TO ASSIST TEACHERS IN DEVELOPING LESSONS TO HELP STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL
11TH GRADE MENTORS • EVERY 11TH GRADE STUDENT WILL HAVE AN ADULT (TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, AIDES, SECRETARIES, ETC.) ASSIGNED AS HIS/HER MENTOR. • THE MENTOR WILL MEET WITH THE STUDENT TO DISCUSS ANY ACADEMIC OR OTHER CONCERNS
