~ Session #1 – Foundation ~ B. Separation 1. Separate stride from swing 2. Front foot down before swing starts 3. Front knee inside of front ankle to gain resistance 4. Solution – Clap Drill a. Set-up and stride drill to separate stride & swing b. Teaches how to stay back – “stride to go back…not to go forward” c. Stride on 1st clap, swing on 2nd clap d. Vary the timing of the claps e. Open eyes vs. closed eyes

Solution – Balance Drill a. Lift front leg & hold in the air for 2 count b. Reach out with stride foot – gain leverage c. Trigger with back hip d. Transfer weight out through swing

Caused by poor timing (late stride) 2. Pulling off the Ball • a. Caused by poor direction closing off backside or opening early • b. Caused by open front foot on stride • c. Caused by upper half getting ahead of lower half in swing
