This scene will be a reconstruction, starting with the a person in a pub drinking, he will then walk towards his car. -Point of view shots of driver driving. -2 shot with the barman, so we see conversation.- Mid shots, close ups where we see pint in his hand. - Point of view sending camera out of focus of driver walking to car. Non – diagetic, narrated over with facts and figures.
After a wipe (representing time) it will be later that night with the driver behind the wheel of the car. He will then try to emergency stop as he see’s a pedestrian crossing the road, but hits him.Coming to a stop the driver gets out of the car and calls 999, fade. . • Point of view of driver seeing the road. • Point of view of pedestrian crossing the road on. • A Pan of the side of the car as it tries to stop. • Over the shoulder of driver. • Soft non-digetic music whilst facts are narrated over. • A wipe will then be used to represent time. • Post sound editing of screeching tires and a “thud” of hitting the pedestrian. • Slowed down vision of pedestrian seeing the car coming towards him.
Various camera shots will be used during the interview. First a tripod will be set up to show a two-shot of the interviewer and the police officer. We will also use the rule of thirds shot to create a looking room. Mixed with over the shoulder shots of the interviewer talking and point of view shots of the interviewer looking at the police officer while he talks. Digetic sounds of interviewer and police officer. Interview takes place. We will discuss the procedure a police officer goes through when someone has been caught. Past experiences. What’s been done to prevent it.
Bright lighting, to cast a shadow figure of the offender onto a green based wall background to create offenders silhouette. Over the shoulder of interviewer. Flashback: Blurred point of view shot of male attempting to get into car. Here we will be interviewing/ talking to someone who commits the offence but hasn’t been caught, we will be asking him why he does it and why he thinks it is ok. We will also ask what he would do if he got caught and if he is aware of the convictions he could face. The seriousness of what could happen and its implications to others. A short flashback of the occasion. Once again diagetic sound. Conversation between interviewer and Offender.
Point of view shot from the interviewer. Over the shoulder for the offender. Two shot of both interviewer and offender in discussion of why he does it. Flashback of being caught, point of view shot from police officer, tilt down to show authority and show weakness of the offender. Blurred point of view shot from driver. Teenager/ Young man who has recently been caught drink driving. Fine he had to pay, criminal record, procedure and everything that happened that night. Flashback of him getting caught. “If you would like to step out the car and remove your keys please sir”. • Diagetic sound: • Conversation and cars passing. • Radio in car.
