  2. Fashion for Woman. Dressed themselves in elaborate and brightly colored robes, gowns and other vestments. Upper class reserved silk for themselves. They would adorn themselves in jewelry, furs, and elaborate belts. Wigs crafted from peasants hair was also very popular.

  3. Fashion. -Very similar to medieval dress. -Woman wore a kirtle and a gown with a cone shaped skirt and long train. -Sleeves were very wide, often edged in fur.

  4. Fashion. -A kirtle is a simple a frock with a tight fitting bodice and sleeves and full skirt. Similar to a petticoat. -It took hours to get dressed for so elaborate was the clothing. -The main color they wore was black.

  5. Fashion. -Womans with dresses were encrusted with pearls, rubies, diamonds, and any other precious stones. -Ruff grew in popularity and in size. -Headware was a necessity during the Renaissance. -If your head wasn’t covered, you got fined for it. -Hoods were most common.

  6. Fashion for Men. -Hats were mandatory. -Shirts sleeves were typically wide and billowy with an open neck. -Rich men wore materials such as cotton, satin, velvet. -Poorer classes made do with flannel or other cheap fabrics.

  7. Fashion. -A doublet was similar to a vest but with cap sleeves or wings. Worn over billowy shirts and worn with a belt. -Peasant men wore loose-fitting pants or trews. -They were made of cheap material.

  8. Fashion. -No one had zippers -All pants were fastened with button closures.
