Learning Targets • Today we will learn about different ways to integrate social media into the classroom • So that we can use social media while still addressing standards • We will know we’ve got it when we create a lesson integrating social media while addressing CCSS.
Why? • A recent study done by Experian most Americans spend 5 1/2 hours on social networks especially Facebook and Twitter. • Top social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube • Over the last couple of years, there has been a big push to use social media in classrooms. • Social media connects students to the world. • Even our youngest students are connected through social media (even though they aren’t supposed to be per social network rules).
