  2. ATTITUDE • “I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope.   3. BE ON TIME! • Better be three hours too soon than one minute too late. ~ William Shakespeare • Entrance # 3 at 8:15 a.m. Sharp! • 9:05 a.m. on Wednesdays

  5. Be Prepared • “Books are the compasses and telescopes and sextants and charts which other men have prepared to help us navigate the dangerous seas of human life.” • Have the necessary materials to complete all assignments.

  6. You Will Be Assigned • A Locker to store your cell phone and other electronic devices, book bag, coat, lunch, personal and non-academic items. • An Assigned Seat. “Organizing is what you do before you do something, so when you do it, it is not all mixed up.” ~ A.A.Mines ( English Humorist, creator of Winnie-the-Pooh)

  7. You Must Have A Successful Day • “If you really want to succeed, you’ll have to go for it every day like I do. The big time isn’t for slackers. Keep up your mental stamina and remain curious. I think that bored people are unintelligent people.” ~ Donald Trump • You must serve a complete day. • No checkouts, check-ins, athletic periods, etc.

  8. You Must Have A Successful Day • Be respectful to all faculty, staff, and students. • Follow all requests made by the ISS teacher. • Use school property in the correct manner. • You may not have food, drinks, water, candy, or gum in the ISS room or during transition times.

  9. You Must Have A Successful Day • Do not talk to students in ISS or in the hallways during transition times. • Raise your hand and be acknowledged before speaking to the teacher. • You may not sleep or have your head resting on the desk.

  10. You Must Have A Successful Day • Complete all assignments satisfactorily. • Be on task and working on the assignment given for each period. • You may not refuse to do an assignment.

  11. SERVICE COMPONENT • “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” ~Mahatma Gandhi ( Preeminent Leader of Indian Nationalism) • One period of your day will be dedicated to the service of others and the school. • DO YOUR BEST!

  12. OTHER INFORMATION “Our best thoughts come from others.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson (American Poet, Lecturer, and Essayist) • Restroom breaks every period. • Classroom testing procedures will apply. • Your Counselor may schedule an exit interview once your ISS time is completed.
