Aim • A system which is designed to perform a mission with different phases is called a phased mission system or a mission-based system. Our Purpose: Define and develop reliability measures for mission-based systems. Mission-Based System: • The sequence and durations of the phases can be deterministic or random • All failure properties of the components change according to the phases
Tools and Repair Policies • No repair: After completing a phase, the worn system continue to work without replacement or maintenance. • Mission process: Markov process • Aging model: Discrete (Markovian) aging • Single unit system • Or we treat the system as a single unit
