Summer project for Media Studies I have analysed a couple of magazines to show what types of magazines are aimed for what target market…
Media Studies • One Ihave chose “Men’s Fitness” magazine to explore in how they attract customers and show off their magazine.
The title and use of font • At the top of the magazine it shows the Name of the magazine in big bold writing, the “Fit” in “Fitness” has been cut out a little but by the models head. They have done this to draw attention to the model and show that he has a very defined and in shape body, this is what the majority of readers are after so it imidatly catches their eye. • Also on the front it says lots of things about easy six packs and bigger muscles and lose weight without the effort, it is clearly false and it is just trying to get people to believe it so they will buy it then read about it.
They have added in the price in a very small font so people are not put off by it until they have searched the front for the price, this means that potential customers will still look at the whole front cover and be absorbed by the selling lines. • The colours they have used are powerful strong colours that show up because of a white background.
Looking at the magazine from the other side it gives more selling lines and some inside the magazine about fitness with troops from Afghanistanand tips from them.
Conclusion of Men’s Fitness In conclusion Men’s Fitness magazine has the market for overweight lazy male men because of the way they use their selling lines to catch people’s attention.
Vibe is a music magazine is an American magazine • The majority of the type is in white and light green to certain things stand out more so people will notice it. • Along the top of the magazine they use language that will engage with a consumer and interest them to read on.
Along the side they have all of there best story's that they think have the best chance of selling the magazine. • Even though this is classed as a music magazine it is still a gossip magazine evident of this is it having gossip over the front page instead of music.
