Enterprise Life Cycle Logistics Management (LOG350) Course Review Marty Sherman Center Director – Life Cycle Logistics LCL FIPT 14 Nov 08
LOG 350 Development Strategy • Competency-Based • Enterprise-wide Cradle-to-Grave Life Cycle Focus: Eight complex “threaded” student team exercises span the entire life cycle; from concept refinement through system acquisition, deployment, sustainment and disposal/recycling. It follows the Integrated Defense AT&L Life Cycle Management Framework Chart (Wall Chart) • Integrated Horizontally (Across the Life Cycle) & Vertically (Multi-disciplinary) • Tight Integration across PLM • Leverage CL Modules as prerequisites, read-aheads and homework • Hands-on active student learning • Shifts from “Instructor-led” to “Instructor-facilitated” • Role of the instructor fundamentally different! • Engaged Learner, not “death by PowerPoint”
