Background • DAU aggressively embarked on embedding June 2008 Logistics Human Capital Strategy competencies and proficiencies into courseware • Much, however, has changed since 2008 - the competency set needs to reflect both current and emerging skills for Life Cycle Logisticians (LCL), to include ACAT I and ACAT II program Product Support Managers (PSM)
Recognition of Major Initiatives • DoD Logistics Human Capital Strategy (2008) • WSAR Product Support Assessment (2009) • Defense Acquisition Guidebook Chapter 5 (2010) • AT&L Affordability Initiatives (2010) • AMFG – Key Leader Competencies (2010) • DTM 10-015 Requirements for Life Cycle Management & Product Support (2010) • Product Support Manager Guidebook (2010) • Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements (2010) • Business Case Analysis Guidebook (2010) • PSAT IPT #3 PSM Technical Competencies (2010)
Tasking from DASD(MR) • DASD(MR) Tasking: Interrogate the holistic curriculum from a competency perspective • Identify the 2nd level competencies • Employ a group-ware tool - every participant rates on a 1-5 scale the degree to which they think that 2nd level competency is critical to OBJECTIVE workforce skills

Deliverable to DAU • Deliverable to DAU: A holistic set of prioritized technical competencies representing the skills, knowledge and/or experience required of a senior Life Cycle Logistician and/or ACAT I and ACAT II program Product Support Managers (PSM) • To achieve the deliverable: • Interrogate the existing competency set holistically, with long term view • Review each competency for substance • Identify any gaps in competency set for senior level LCL / PSM • Conduct a validation voting process on importance and frequency for each competency
Validation: Pass 1 Tasks • Competencies are grouped by 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements • Competencies will be displayed in a listing for your review • Comment box at bottom of screen • Pass 1: • Task #1: Review and comment on the substance of the competencies listed (not the spelling, grammar, etc.) • Task #2: Did we miss any competencies?
