Reading, continued • Last year in 5 months our students read an average of 24 books each (almost 5 books a month!) • The least read by any one student was six; the most read was 102!! • All but 3 students met the goal of 20 books!

Assignment • Topics should fit in with theme. (Suggested topics on nhd.org site) • Students will conduct research, analyze the information to determine the impact on history, and create a project that presents the information. • Student Groups should be carefully considered by students and parents as this project includes many SS & LA grades during the first semester.

Teacher Websites • The math lessons and homework for each day are posted on the teacher’s website. • Some content may not be posted until the day of the lesson.
Math Textbooks • All students have access to the online textbook. (Look for a sticker in the agenda.) • Students can also check-out a CD or textbook. • Students must have access to the textbook at home.
Homework Policy • Students will have homework each night Monday through Thursday. • Homework should not take more than 20 minutes each night.
Tutoring • Group tutoring will be held Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:15pm. • We will be reviewing skills currently being used in class. • Students need to be picked up promptly at 4:15pm at the turn around between the MS and Elem buildings.
Cat Cards/Level Letters • 1 Cat Card for each week (bound in agenda) – must be signed every Friday night • Maximum salary for the week: $75 • $15/day for attending (no sick days) • Cat Card is to be signed by Parent each Monday • Level 1 ($150 in fines) • Level 2 ($200 in fines) • Level 3 ($250 in fines) • Level 4 ($300 in fines) • Level 5 ($350 in fines) • Level 6 ($400 in fines)

Career Shadowing for 2011-2012 Wednesday, November 2nd Students shadow a responsible adult that works outside of his/her home. Students report to the job site that day, not the school. Transportation is up to the student/parent. Start looking now. Students will be expected to know who they are shadowing by late October.
