FP 420 Cryostat Design and Integration Integration into the machine tunnel with existing equipment and reserved volumes • Cryo distribution line (QRL) • Tunnel Services, cable trays, cables and piping • Transport reservation • Alignment lines of sight • Integration of services and detector on the new connection cryostat with warm beam pipes • Vacuum sector valves, pumps, vacuum gauges, diagnostic ports • Detector Interfaces • Detector cooling and services • Assembly, transport and installation • First Installation must not take longer than the normal 3-4 month winter shutdown • Assembly the complete connection cryostat in surface hall. • Structural Beam to assembly together Terminal Module (ATM) and support cryogenics continuity lines, detectors positioning system, radiation shielding.
Vacuum Instrumentation (VAA) on Reshuffling Module of Distribution Feed Boxes (DFB) Vacuum Instrumentation (VAA)
DFB Vacuum Equipment (VAA) Visit DFB Vacuum Assembly Facilities. (Keith Potter, Michele Arneodo, Detlef Swoboda, Benoit Florins, Guido Ryckewaert)
ATM Reshuffling Module. X Line Superfluid He (X) Line. Existing raw interfaces
X line continuity There is not continuity for the super-fluid He (X line) on the existing module. It can be added on existing raw interfaces in the reshuffling module. A straight line between ATM flanges has been considered. A: aligned to contiguous element B:Moved aside by 180 mm to allow easy accessibility to detectors
X Line Continuity new proposal. (I) • Previously layouts not compatible with Beam vacuum equipment. • Move X Line away by curved piping between ATM flanges
X Line Continuity new proposal. (II) Instrumentation must sectorise the warm and cold vacuum systems and provide roughing pumping/venting and UHV pumping of the warm vacuum system for both beams, independently. In addition it should provides tools to monitor the status and quality of each beam vacuum. Combination of valve, pump and pressure gauges, as is on DFB modules (VAA), would occupy about 700 mm Detail on next slide • Distance between flanges of reshuffling modules: 9810 mm • Reserve to vacuum equipment 700mm per side. Available space for detectors ~ 8410 mm

Conclusion (next steps) • Get detailed drawing of tunnel layout in all the 8 zone. Check QRL. • Study on feasibility of 3rd proposal of X line routing. Design Interconnection inside shuffling module. • Adapt Vacuum equipment- (R Veness ?) • Cryostat Assembly Beam – Transport Handling Frame ?
