CONCLUSIONES Pese a los avances en las gestiones de la educación superior en Panamá, algunos sectores consideran que las Instituciones se preocupan más por el acceso de los estudiantes que por la calidad de los procesos formativos. La Era del Conocimiento plantea nuevos desafíos a la educación superior, competitividad y globalización y además, es este un escenario portador de nuevas tensiones entre la tradición y la modernidad. La Autonomía está llamada a servir como una condición para poner la Universidad al servicio de los grandes problemas nacionales, y establecer un nexo con el resto del sistema educativo.
