  2. INFORME DE GESTIÓN AÑO 2013 ¿QUE ES SALUD PUBLICA? La salud pública es la disciplina encargada de la protección de la salud a nivel poblacional. Tiene como objetivo mejorar la salud de la población, así como el control y la erradicación de las enfermedades. Es una ciencia de carácter multidisciplinario, ya que utiliza los conocimientos de otras ramas como las ciencias Biológicas, Conductuales, Sanitarias y Sociales.

INFORME DE GESTIÓN AÑO 2013 FUNCIONES DE LA SALUD PÚBLICA Las funciones esenciales de la salud pública son el conjunto de acciones que deben ser realizadas con fines concretos, para mejorar la salud de la población. Dichas obligaciones son: Seguimiento, evaluación y análisis de la situación de salud. Vigilancia de la salud pública, investigación, control de riesgos y daños en salud pública. Participación de los ciudadanos en la salud.

  4. INFORME DE GESTIÓN AÑO 2013 FUNCIONES DE LA SALUD PÚBLICA proporcionar a la gente los medios necesarios para mejorar la salud y ejercer un mayor control sobre la misma. Evaluación y promoción del acceso equitativo a los servicios de salud necesarios. Desarrollo de recursos humanos y capacitación en salud pública. Garantía y mejoramiento de la calidad de los servicios de salud. Reducción del impacto de las emergencias y desastres en la salud. Vigilancia y control a todas las enfermedades causadas por epidemias.
