  2. What is Project MPAC? • A comprehensive four-year academic and career advisement program

  3. Goals of Project MPAC • To increase the number of FSU graduates entering graduate and professional schools. • To identify students, early in their education, who have the potential to do well in science, and place them on tracks leading to graduate or professional schools.

  4. Eligibility for Project MPAC • Freshmen, who score at least 1000 SAT Score, and 500 or better on the FSU Profile Exam in Math. • Or second-semester freshmen, who will complete BIOL 150 and CHEM 140 with a “B” grade or better by the end of Freshman Year.

  5. Students who do not meet the requirements for Project MPAC are strongly encouraged to meet with a career advisor and follow the guidelines of the program as closely as possible.

  6. Highlights of Project MPAC • MPAC Students are linked with advisors who provide specialized academic and career advisement. • Graduate School- Dr. Margaret Kanipes • Medical Schools- Dr. James E. Raynor, Jr. • Dentistry- Mrs. Minnie Ragland • Allied Health- Dr. Sherrice Allen

  7. Career pathways are designed to make MPAC students better candidates for their chosen careers: -MPAC students must maintain at least a ”B” grade in all core science courses -intramural and extramural research -Internships -Science Enrichment Programs, such as SEP or MED.

  8. Academic Watch-Care Program Under this program, the academic performances of MPAC students are closely monitored to ensure academic success in core science courses.

  9. Supplemental Instructions Program MPAC students, who fall below a “B” average in any core science courses, must attend SI sessions. Additionally, MPAC students are required to become SI leaders, students who provide SI instructions, for at least one course each semester after successfully completing a core science course.

  10. First-year coursework for MPAC Students • Plan A • General Studies requirements • Pre-Calculus (MATH 129) • Principles of Biology (BIOL 150) • General Chemistry I (CHEM 140) • Plan B • General Studies requirements • Pre-Calculus (MATH 129) • Principles of Biology (BIOL 150) or General Chemistry (CHEM 140)

  11. In the end, we expect Project MPAC to have a great “IMPACT” on the ability of FSU to produce more students pursuing graduate and profession schools! Thank You for your Support!
