All public schools require federal funding to administer standardized tests to all students statewide every year.
95% of students must be tested and exceed on reading and mathematics regardless.
2 Years: “Choice School Improvement Status” • Give students ability to transfer to another school and provide transportation. • 3 Years: “Supplement Services” • After-school tutoring programs from state approved provider. • 4 years: Corrective Action Improvement Status” • Fire the people liable for failure to meet AYP, decrease school management authority, restructure of the organization of the school.
5 years: • Close the school down and reopen them as charter schools. • Fire the school staff including the principal. • Turn school operations to the state education agency.
