  2. Overview • SPS Ring • Vertical smoothing SPS Ring • Radial smoothing SPS Ring • Realignment of „hole“ in sextant 6 • Interventions requersted by others • Transfert Lines • TI2 • Vertical and radial smoothing • TI8 • Vertical and radial smoothing • TT10 • Vertical and radial smoothing • TT60 • Vertical smoothing and compensation of SPS extraction • TT20 • Vertical smoothing

  3. SPS Ring • Vertical smoothing of the SPS Quads • Tilt adjustment and vertical survey of all Quads followed by smoothing • Last done in 2010, standard procedure on WP basis • Radial smoothing of the SPS Quads • Stretched wire measurements for all Quads followed by smoothing • Last done in 2005, standard procedure on WP basis • Alignment of intermediate components • Dipole and Girder alignment • Last done in 2005, standard procedure mainly on WP basis • Realignment of “The hole” in sextant 6 • Vertical compensation of the tunnel ground movements between 529 and 635

  4. Sextant 6 Compensation of up to 3.3mm TT60 extraction line involved Quite heavy intervention involving • TE/VSC • TE/MSC • EN/HE • Many other groups as equipment holder

  5. Transfert Lines • TI2 • Tilt adjustment and vertical survey of all Quads followed by smoothing • Last done in 2011, standard procedure on WP basis • Radial smoothing of TI2 Quads, last done in 2007 • TI8 • Tilt adjustment and vertical survey of all Quads followed by smoothing • Last done in 2011, standard procedure on WP basis • Radial smoothing of TI8 Quads (huge deviations detected in 2010, last done in 2007) • Alignment of intermediate components • TT10 • Tilt adjustment and vertical survey of all Quads followed by smoothing • Radial smoothing of TT10 Quads • Last done in 2007, standard procedure

  6. Planning

  7. Manpower Planning • 01/04/13-10/04/14 one team of 2 persons for Ti2, Ti8 and TT10 • 01/04/13-17/04/14 one team of 2-3 persons for the SPS Ring • Control, calculation and follow up by Guillaume (First controls, Geode loading), Patrick, Christophe 50% and Philippe 50% (Calculation and follow up) • No temporarily personnel allowed in SPS (RP Supervised Area) • Dose Rate Planning to be finished and to be respected! • Change of personnel between Transfer lines and SPS ring • Short interventions of a staff team for selected jobs

  8. Status of preparation • Skeleton of Planning is fixed • Procedures / Sequences currently under control • Dose Rate planning ongoing • Jigs to be listed and controlled • Material to be controlled and tested • New electronic Ecartometer • New Hydraulic lifting system for SPS dipoles • Still more and more ECR´s are coming in • Work requested by others (20 Dipoles, BA1 Cabeling, Kicker and Septa exchanges etc.)

  9. Conclusion Almost the maximum of all possible activities is foreseen in LS1. Some of these activities are new for the contractor and me as well. Maximum of guidance and support in the field is needed, especially during startup of activities. Stay vigilant and attentive: Lots of repetitive tasks for the teams Hope for the best... ..But be prepared for the worst!
