  2. Youth Task Force is a group of committed youth fighting against corruption and seeking to create a transparent and accountable government.

Objectives of Youth Task Force • To bring to light the various issues which plague the system. • To build opinion on various issues. • Inform the people and help them to organize their efforts. • Mobilize the people to exercise the rights. • To ensure transparency and accountability in the system.

  4. JOSH along with AID Delhi has initiated and organised a 'Youth Task Force', comprising of students, mainly of students of IIT Delhi to use Right to Information and inspection of the various works being carried out by the Government and its’ agencies.

  5. What we intend to do? Use Right to Information for seeking information on roads, flyovers, bridges, foot over bridges and subwaysfrom Public Works Department, Delhi.

  6. Why roads???? • Road is the indicator of level of civilization of a country. • Road is like lifeline of the economy of a Nation. • Roads is one of the most important infrastructure of an Economy. • Roads is most secular space. • Roads is one which is used by beggar to billionaire, from prince and pauper.

  7. Public Works Department Delhi is the agency of Govt. of NCT of Delhi engaged in planning, designing, construction and maintenance of Government assets like Hospitals, Schools, Colleges, Technical Institutes, Police Buildings, Prisons, Courts etc; and Roads, Bridges, Flyovers, Footpaths, Subways etc. PWD Delhi is also responsible for sustaining and preserving these assets. CATEGORIES OF WORK CURRENTLY BEING CARRIED OUT BY PWD • WORK IN PROGRESS, i.e. the work which is being carried out • SANCTIONED WORK, i.e. the work for which resources have been sanctioned • PLANNED WORK i.e. works which would be carried out in the future, and • COMPLETED WORK i.e. the works that have already been completed

  10. TOTAL GOVT. BUDGET OF ROADS IS Rs. 61, 845 LAKHS AND THIS EXCLUDES THE PLANNING WORKS FOR WHICH THE ESTIMATE IS NOT AVAILABLE

  11. We want to find out how this money is being utilised. We want to know whether what is being claimed is being built or not.

  12. We want to find out whether the length, breadth and thickness of the road which has been claimed on paper, actually exists or not. We want to inspect the quality of the material being used.

  13. Prior to 2005, the politicians and the bureaucrats were the masters of all legislative and administrative activities. The common man was not only helpless but completely entangled in the cobwebs of the corrupt bureaucratic machinery.

  14. Right to Information has now empowered the common man to voice their problems and demand answers for their sad state of affairs.

  15. AROUND 25 RTI APPLICATIONS HAVE ALREADY BEEN FILED ON ROADS. THE PROMINENT ROADS FOR WHICH RTIs HAVE BEEN FILED ARE RING ROAD, OUTER RING ROAD, TRANS YAMUNA ROADS, ROHINI ROADS, NATIONAL HIGHWAY 10 AND 24.  

  16. RTI s FILED TILL NOW HAVE COVERED ROADS OF BUDGETERY WORTH Rs. 39,537 LAKHS

  17. We invite every earnest citizen to join this campaign. Let us all strive to create a parallel monitoring mechanism by the citizens to check corruption and improve the quality of the various infrastructural work going on in the city.
