Agenda • SAS 9.4 for Students • Microsoft Select Agreement • Adobe for Students • ExamSoft • Tableau • Purchasing Updates: • Bids for enterprise-wide technology products • Update on IT Vendor Fair
SAS Distribution • SAS 9.4 • Seeking new distribution options • Lighter version, smaller installation • A “Student Version” • Will include basic SAS products that non-power users might need: • SAS Foundation/Base • SAS/Access • SAS/Graph • SAS/Stat • SAS Enterprise Guide (among others)
SAS Distribution • Purchasing is seeking to: • Reduce the download size • Provide a secondary Box link for troubleshooting • Update the basic product to ensure Windows 10 compatibility • Shorten and ease installation for students (in particular)
Microsoft Campus Agreement • OSU’s Microsoft Campus Agreement renews on 6/30/2016 • We are not expecting major changes, though we are in discussion on options going forward. • Student Option licensing is expected to remain in place, as is our Azure commit ($60k) • Pricing is set, unless we decide to change the terms of the agreement • Right now, we do not expect any increase in price for FY17
Microsoft Select Agreement • OSU’s Microsoft Select Agreement expires on 6/30/2016 • This is the agreement we purchase things not on our Campus Agreement from • The old Select Agreement is no longer available • All new agreements are “Select Plus,” which does not co-term Software Assurance (SA) • The IUC is still in discussions with Microsoft regarding Select. We do have an opportunity to change resellers if we wish • You will have to plan to renew Software Assurance and MSDN accounts when the agreement expires.
Adobe CC for Students & DPS • Adobe has brought good proposals to the table regarding Creative Cloud for Students, and DPS for campus • Discussions remain ongoing regarding these products • The Inter-University Council (IUC) of Ohio is discussing Adobe CC for students across all 14 schools
Possible Site License: ExamSoft • ExamSoft offered pricing is as follows: • $8/student/year at 30,000 users • Support separate • Purchasing sent out a notice to interested departments in mid-January with pricing details based on FTE spend • Responses did not provide go-ahead with full funding for this license • Purchasing is re-evaluating FTE-based models.
Possible Site License: Tableau • We’re seeing major growth in Tableau since 2011 • We’re examining interest, spend, and usage across campus • Up to almost $90k already FY16 • Qualtrics has an add-in for this product as well
OSU Purchasing IT Update • Bids in flight now • ERP bid is closed, and we are reviewing responses • Vulnerability Management bid is pending award • Online Proctoring Pilot bid is pending award • Autosys Batch Processing bid is open and accepting responses
