  2. Partnership Committee Purpose To provide information, analysis, and recommendations for Board action on a full range of FHP issues.

  3. 2012 Priority Tasks • Provide guidance that helps with implementing the Board’s 2012 Multi-state Conservation Grant (MSCG) project. • Assist with growing the community of support for Fish Habitat Partnerships (FHP). • Develop a minimum benchmark set of fish habitat conservation project prioritization criteria.

  4. 2012 Priority Task Outputs • Recommended selecting River Network as the vendor to conduct the requisite training identified in the 2012 MSCG project. • Initiated a process aimed at identifying common FHP outreach needs. • Drafted a core set of project prioritization criteria.

  5. Recommended Project Prioritization Criteria • Direct linkages of project to specific Fish Habitat Partnership strategic plan/framework priorities and/or National Fish Habitat Partnership action plan (2nd edition)/priority conservation strategies. • Project alignment/compatibility with other conservation plans (e.g. State Wildlife Plans; Biological Opinions, Land Management Plans).

  6. Recommended Project Prioritization Criteria • Project identification of specific measures of success and performance targets that are observable and amenable to pre- and post-project monitoring. • Capabilities/experience of project proponents to complete what is proposed.

  7. Recommended Project Prioritization Criteria • Well-defined budget linked to clear deliverables and outcomes. • Leveraging of funds. • Project protects aquatic habitat or addresses the causes and process behind aquatic habitat decline .

  8. Recommended Project Prioritization Criteria • Project has an outreach/education component in the local community.

  9. Tentative List of 2013 Priorities • Guidance that assists FHPs establish strong, strategic priorities and associated milestones that tracks progress and outcomes. Budget need: $5,000 to assist in supporting a face-to-face meeting of FHP representatives.

  10. Tentative List of 2013 Priorities • Development of a process that builds consensus support among FHPs for Multi-state Conservation Grant proposals submitted by the NFH Board on their behalf.

  11. Tentative List of 2013 Priorities • Establishment of a vetting process for fish habitat conservation projects submitted to non-NFHP funding sources that need endorsements from FHPs.

  12. Tentative List of 2013 Priorities • Identification of approaches for estimating the costs for FHPs to achieve their priority conservation outcomes.
