Requirements • 1.1m3 gas volume • Pressurized detector vessel, 2.5 to 5.0 bara • Operational gas H2 • Purge gas N2 • Fill-mode: • Evacuate chamber to ~1mbara • Fill with H2 until operational pressure is reached • Run-mode: • Maintain operational pressure within ~ 1mbar • Pressure-Scan-mode: • The chamber pressure can be varied in n-steps from P_min to P_max. Each pressure level is maintained constant for m-minutes • All parameters fully available to the detector expert. CEDAR Gas System, F.Merlet, S.Haider

Pressure drop considerations Pressure drop for 100m pipe and 500l/h Pressure drop for 100m pipe and 1000l/h CEDAR Gas System, F.Merlet, S.Haider
Flammability issues 1.1 m3 @ 5 bara = 5.5m3 of gas in the detector 0.09 kg/m3 0.495 kg of flammable gas All needed components in contact with H2 must be ATEX (pump, MassFlowControllers, pressure sensors, readout electronics etc. ) All equipment is available The flammable gas detection is independent of the gas system and is usually installed by SC CEDAR Gas System, F.Merlet, S.Haider
