  3. Warm up • 4 body-pulse raising activities • Sprint • Suicides • Jogging • Practice passing the ball

  4. Stretches to warm up • This is to stretch the groin area. This is to stretch the arm the triceps. • This is called the hand-down spine. This is called the quadriceps standing. It is to stretch your quadriceps. Last but not least this is called the shoulder strangle. Which is used to stretch the muscles around the shoulder.

  5. Skill specific Exercise • We can wear bibs and the opposite teams have to mark their attackers on the other team. • Eg. The goal defense guards the goal attack from getting the away.

  6. Skill development • I would like to develop my passing skills for netball. • Pass the balls around while the other teamates are moving around and passing after taking a few pivot steps.

  7. Skill progression • In the beginning the players might not know how to do a proper pass, so though this they learn how to do a overhead pass, chest pass and bounce pass. • The players would learn how to communicate with each other better • The players would increase in their own personal abilities in netball.

  8. Netball rules • You cannot move with the ball. You can only take pivot around one of your foot. • The players can only stay in their respective positions. • Only the goal attack and the goal shooter can shoot the ball.

  9. THE POSITIONS • THE 7 DIFFERENT POSITIONS ARE • GOAL KEEPER • GOAL DEFENCE • WING DEFENCE • CENTRE • WING ATTACK • GOAL ATTACK • GOAL SHOOTER

Main roles of 3 players. • - Goal shooter • His role is to work with the goal attack and score goals against the opposite team. • - Goal Keeper • His role is to work with the goal defence to prevent the goal attack or the goal shooter from scoring goals. • - Centre • His role is to help the wing attack in feeding the goal attack and the goal shooter, or to help the wing defence in guarding against the attackers from the other team from feeding the ball to the goal circle.

  11. Netball fitness • 3 components of fitness they would need. • 1. The cardiovascular endurance/ stamina. • They need it to continue running throughout the game because if they lost energy they wont be able to play on. • 2. They need muscular strength. • They need strength in their arms to pass with a lot of accuracy and speed. • 3. They need flexibility • They need to be flexible to be able to block the ball or catch the ball at times.

  12. What I have learnt • Include- • Sports you have completed ~We completed a few sports like netball, gymnastics. In gymnastics, we did a few vaulting lessons and a floor routine. ~We also did some track and field towards the end of the term. • Activities you have completed ~ We learned different roles, balances and jumps in the gymnastics section, we also learned how to vault using the spring board over a height of blocks. ~ We also learned the types of passes in the netball activity, also the rules and the positions of the match. • Games you have played ~ We played a few fun games of netball and the team with Jordan in normally wins the match. • Memories from the activity ~I remember the memories from the vaulting lessons as I loved vaulting and did it multiple times while we were playing a game during grade 5 in my old school in Singapore.

Learner Profile Links • What Learner Profile points have you been able to demonstrate in the units of work? ~ The learner profiles that I think I demonstrated are: Communicators, risk-taker and thinkers • Show evidence, use images, videos etc. ~ For Communicators, we had to communicate with the team in the netball block to ensure that the ball is able to be passed from one end of the court to the other end of the court and thus, the goal be scored… So, we had to have good communications in between the team and this way, we might have the chance to prevent the other team from scoring and even score a few goals ourselves. ~For Risk-Takers, I took a few risks trying to go as high as possible on the blocks during the vaulting lessons and to overcome even the highest block possible. ~ For Thinkers, I had think about the correct and appropriate sequence for my gymnastics routine so that it will look aesthetic.

  14. What I can do to improve • What must you do to improve your level. • This can include- • Skills to improve ~ I can improve on my skills for gymnastics as I had to improve on some of the gymnastics rolls and jumps so that it will look more aesthetic by improving my balance and co-ordination. ~ Another skill I can improve on is the power of my passes in the netball block so that I can follow-through properly. • Listening to the teachers/following instructions ~ I can listen more to the teacher when he is giving instructions as I sometimes wander off and not pay attention. • Practicing more ~ I can practice more on my agility for the track and field block so I can run even faster and take a shorter time for my 1500m also I can increase my stamina this way. • Attending ~ I can also attend more lessons as I missed some lessons in the earlier block of gymnastics and also two lessons for my vaulting lessons thus I have to pay more attention during the next few lessons on this topics.
