Mengapa perlunya Program Pembangunan Prestasi Sekolah (SIP)? 2 Key messages The SIP is a comprehensive and ambitious effort to challenge, motivate and support all 10,000 schools to improve student outcomes – especially the low-performing ones We are launching it as a natural extension of the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP). In particular: (1) SIP complements “High-Performing Schools” in that HPS raises the bar, while SIP closes the achievement gap. HPS aims to “raise the bar” and set the standards for school excellence. At the same time, we are launching the SIP to make sure that schools, especially the underperforming ones, are not left behind. (2) SIP is a natural extension of the New Deal for principals, where we committed to support the schools that do not meet their targets for consecutive years. This support will be delivered by way of the SIP. (3) SIP builds on the momentum of “big results fast” under the Government Transformation Programme.
