Committee Norms • Be fully present and actively engaged • Respect each other and conduct ourselves in a collegial manner • Agree to disagree, respectfully • Allow all members to contribute during meeting • Share and be open to new, innovative ideas
Today’s Objectives: • Review the purpose for Online Task Force; • Review information shared at last meeting • NVEC information (homework) • Group expectations and questions • Introduce the subcommittees and define their purpose • Discuss online communication platform for Taskforce (wiki, blog, etc.) and meetings
Purpose of the Task Force: • Develop a shared understanding about online learning opportunities to be afforded to K-12 SUSD students; • Using this understanding, create a three-year action plan for the development of “SUSD ONLINE” (title subject to change at the discretion and creativity of the group); • Identify the online needs and critical elements of an on line learning program, K-12; • Research current online offerings/programs as we participate in development of our own program; • Serve as a communication and support to teachers, students and parents across the District regarding the philosophy for online learning and its development and implementation in SUSD.
Goals/Outcomes of Taskforce: • An Online Learning Philosophy that can be communicated and shared across the district with all stakeholders • A communication plan to accompany the philosophy • A framework that describes the elements needed in “SUSD Online Learning” • A three-year action plan for the development and implementation of “SUSD Online Learning” for K-12 students; • The Action Plan, Summary Document and Task Force materials will be submitted/presented to the Governing Board.
Group Warm Up • In small groups of 4-5 discuss the article, NVEC information and any other research you did since last meeting. • What did you take away from article and NVEC information (what other district’s are doing)? • Critical information the task force needs as we begin our work? 15 minutes in small group 10 minute report out

What Happens Next… • Assigned to subcommittees (by Wednesday, March 24th) • Subcommittee team leaders will contact members to welcome and provide any guidance for March 30th meeting • Begin to utilize online platform for Taskforce
