FVA’s Population • Total number of students is 108 • Kinder = 3 • 1-5 = 23 • 6-8 = 32 • 9-12= 50 • 45 boys and 63 girls • 10 Hispanic, 1 American Indian, 1 Asian, 4 African American, 68 White, 18 undefined and 6 two or more races for a total of 36.70% excluding white not of Hispanic origin. • Supplemental students • 10 French 3 from FHS • 3 Geometry from BLRA • 5 students 3 AP Bio and 2 AP French who withdrew due to rigor

FVA’s K-2 Population • Grade Level Proficiency (DIBELS) • 10 Students total • SPED 1 • 2 with Cancer • DIBELS • 3 have already met the BOY/MOY/EOY benchmarks and will be reassessed based upon the D49 Literacy Assessment flowcharts • 1 student is currently being progress monitored • 6 need to be DIBELED who are recent enrollments

  8. K-2 Population cont. • K-2 progress in K12 curriculum is mastery based and is monitored by the K-8 teacher. Some students are behind in progress and K-8 teacher is using office hours to catch students up. • In our K-2 model the amount of progress is what the Learning Coach has logged and completed.

FVA’s 9-12 Population • Total Students = 50 • SPED = 6 • AP students = 8 students in 4 different AP courses • Credit Deficient = 23 • More than one year behind=15 students • Less than 4 credits deficient=8 students • Average 10-12 GPA is 1.71 of students reported in IC • At-Risk ( 3 Pregnant, 1 Returning Drop Out, 1 Medical, and 14 Prior attendance concerns) • Current grade concerns due to adjustment of online learning and skill deficits

Professional Development • Beginning of the year 6 day VNTT that took place in conjunction with teachers regular teaching duties • 21st Century Teaching and Learning which includes ICT skill that students need as 21st century learners • Collaborative Instruction using web 2.0 tools like ning, posterous, blogging, podcasts, Elluminate live, FB, Twitter, thebigthink12, and Thinkfinity • Teacher and Learning Coach K12 national Speaker Series • Book Study (Seeking book) • iNACOL conference in November with Jodi and Kim

Implementation Process • Created a SAAC to include parents, teachers, students, and administrators • Using our current students data prior knowledge will help in development of our UIP utilizing our SAAC and FVA team • Calendar to be set to monitor UIP progress with team • School Improvement process will be monitored at weekly PLC/Staff meetings

Implementation Process cont. • Accomplishments are celebrated with development of Honor Roll, star student of the month at each school level, and recognition of students and Learning Coaches in school newsletter, website, and social network site • Participation in National K12 contests • Development of Student Ambassador program • Development of P2P support group for onboarding process and continued support • Development of 8th -9th grade transition program

School/Home Relationship • Open door policy/Office Hours • 24 hour response expectation with voicemail, Kmail, and email • Teacher will make connection with every student weekly - no exceptions • FVA Learning Coaches/Mentors play an integral part and are a key partner in FVA’s success • Due to the model of FVA it requires consistent communication of student’s performance with parent/guardian • HMRM consistent communications and monitoring of student progress and achievement • Students notes in Total View
