USPS Tidbits • Certificate of Mailing – provides proof of mailing • $1.15 or $0.42 for 3 or more entered into the firm mailing book (save 63%).
USPS Tidbits • QBRM/BRM • New IMB mandate for all return envelopes • May 2011 requirement • Contact local USPS Business Network Center for free artwork including the IMB – Pay attention to your inventory • BRM Permit Fee • $185 per year • BRM per piece costs $0.44 + $0.74 = $1.18 each • QBRM Permit Fee • $185 per year + $585 Accounting Fee = $770 per year • QBRM per piece cost • $0.417 + $0.05s = $0.469 each • QBRM break even at 822 pieces per year of returned mail. Certified, Return Receipt Definition: • Two Separate Services available for First Class Mail • Certified Mail provides proof of mailing and proof of delivery. USPS retains signature for 2 years, will supply on request for $4.60 each. • Return Receipt provides proof of delivery in both hard copy and electronic formats and sends the signature back to you via “green card” for $2.30 each.

IMS Click-n-Print Certified Quick Print Quick Print Screen The Quick Print screen is used to quickly generate a single Certified Mailpiece. • Populate the Recipient address(selecting from your Address Book, Pasting from a Word document, or by entering the address. • Set Postage Options • Enter Additional Information(Optional) • Click Print Form to generate the Certified Mail form in your inkjet or laser printer.
IMS Click-n-Print Certified Selection & Printing Selection & Printing Screen The Selection & Printing screen is used to quickly generate large volumes of Certified Mail in a single Print Run(Batch). • Select multiple Recipient addresses from your Address Book located at the bottom portion of the screen. • Set Postage Options • Enter Additional Information(Optional) • Click Print Forms to generate the Certified Mail forms in your inkjet or laser printer.
IMS Click-n-Print Certified Print Preview of the Certified Mail Form Print Preview of the Certified Mail Form The Print Preview of the Certified Mail Form displays as a PDF within the browser window. • Review the recipient address and postage amounts to confirm the information is correct. • Click the Printer Icon on the toolbar above the print preview. • When the Printer Dialog window appears, click OK to print the Certified Mail form to your Laser or Inkjet printer. • Click the Back button in the browser to begin preparing your next Certified Mailpiece.
IMS Click-n-Print Certified Tracking & Digital Signatures Tracking and Digital Signatures The Tracking & Digital Signatures screen is used to quickly track your Certified Mailpieces and obtain the digital signatures(for users of Electronic Return Receipt) • Enter information about the Certified Mailpiece you wish to Track or obtain the Digital Signature for. • Click the View Records button. • Locate the Certified Mail piece from the results displayed to obtain the Delivery Results. • Click the View Signature hot link to view the Digital Signature.
IMS Click-n-Print Certified Sample Electronic Return Receipt(Digital) Signature Sample Electronic Return Receipt(Digital) Signature The Digital Signature the USPS provides includes the following information. • The Certified Mail Article Number. • The Date/Time the Certified Mailpiece was delivered. • The City, State, and Zip that the mailpiece was delivered in. • The Digital Signature of the person who signed for the Certified Mailpiece.
Priority Mail Definition: • Any first class mail that weighs more than 13 oz • Any mailable matter except items prohibited by mailing standards (hazardous)
