Texas Projection Measure • Texas Projection Measure (TPM), a growth measure that will be used by Texas to determine whether students are meeting annual performance goals. • Growth measures track individual student achievement on state tests from one year to the next, giving schools credit for student improvement over time. The Texas Education Agency developed the TPM as a measure for use in its federal and state accountability systems. • Once the TPM becomes available for use in determining state and federal accountability ratings, districts and schools will then have an opportunity to receive credit for students who did not meet passing standards on state tests, but who demonstrate they are projected to pass in a subsequent year.
Criteria for meeting AYP: 1. AYP performance requirements are met if the percent Met Standard for all students and each student group summed across grades 3-8 and 10 in reading/language arts and mathematics meets or exceeds AYP standard. • The AYP standards for 2007-2008 are 67% for reading/ELA and 58% for Math. • The AYP standards gradually increase. • By 2013-2014, the standards are 100 percent for both reading/language arts and mathematics.
2. AYP participation requires 95 percent of all students and each student group to be tested to meet participation requirements, calculated separately for reading & math. 3. Other AYP requirements must be met for all students: 70% graduation rates for high schools and 90% attendance rates for middle and elementary schools.

Comments for Previous Slide • Reading stayed the same and a slight increase in the following sub-categories: Hispanic and Economic Disadvantage. • Math had an increase overall and a substantial increase in the following sub-categories: Hispanic, LEP, and the Economic Disadvantage. However the White sub-category had a significant decrease.

Comments for Previous Slides • Reading and Math we had significant drops overall and the following sub-categories: Hispanic, LEP, and Economic Disadvantage. • Writing had a slight drop overall and in the sub-category of Economic Disadvantage. Had a significant drop in the following sub-categories: Hispanic and LEP.
SES Attendance Data from AEIS Summary: Attendance slightly decreased overall for the campus but it did increase in the following sub-categories of Hispanic. LEP, and Economic Disadvantage. Attendance decreased for the following sub-categories of White and Sp Ed.

SMS TAKS Data from AEIS Grade 5 Grade 5 Summary: Reading scores decreased in all groups this year. Math scores were primarily up and Science scores were primarily down compared to previous years. We will continue to work on all areas. We will be working with all groups to keep those scores going up.
SMS TAKS Data from AEIS Grade 6 Grade 6 Summary: Reading and Math scores went up across the board, while the state averages went down.
SMS TAKS Data from AEIS Grade 7 Grade 7 Summary: The biggest area that we need work in continues to be Math. We must continue to build the Math skills needed.
SMS TAKS Data from AEIS Grade 8 Grade 8 Summary: Reading was right at state average and down a little from the year before. We stayed about where we were in Math with one group going up and two going down. We also jumped a little in Social Studies with one group going up and two going down. Science represents a significant need as our average and all groups but one were down.
SMS Attendance Data from AEIS We would like for these to increase each year. These are a little higher from previous years. Received Gold Performance for Attendance.
