Didier, Nov 17th 2011 Stave-1 loading status • Wire bonding cradle made by Uni Bern finally arrived and has been installed on the H&K machine. It is perfectly interfacing the stave handling frame • Wire bonding tests wad done on baby detector mounted on the stave in 6 different configurations: • No support - 1 bonding phase: Failing bonds • No support - 2 bonding phases: Good bonds – Pull test: 15.4g in av. • Foam support just below – Pull test: 16.4g in av. • Foam support at each side (~70mm) – Pull test: 17.1g in av. • “V” feet support below – Pull test: 14.3g in av. • “V” feet support at each side (~70mm) – Pull test: 15.7g in av. • Last module (other bond pad layout) received from Genovaon Nov 15th and tested by Yosuke BUT • - Module is not working at the FE-R while it was working fine at Genova • - It has been identified region of destroyed wire bonds (possibly destroyed during transport) • - Under rework at UniGeand then retest… • Wing adhesive investigations – Try to avoid sticky tape and instead using a re-workable glue join. Several glued identified and which will have to be thermal cycled and tested with the ionizing radiations (later investigations) • Basic tooling for module pigtail cutting is under fab • Alignment rule for module loading has to be modified: pigtail excess length vs detector edge • The damaged pipe side has to be cut with a Dremel (under investigation now) • Next steps: • Loading • Wing gluing • Wire bonding • Strain relieve of the pipe to be added • Pipe fitting to be worked out by CPPM and LAPP • Stave ready to be transport at SR1 Best results
