CONCLUSIONES Las especialidades médicas más utilizadas en el cantón Rumiñahui son medicina general, pediatría y ginecología (63,4%), mientras que las especialidades más ofertadas son odontología, rehabilitación, ginecología, pediatría y laboratorio clínico (51%). El cantón Rumiñahui no cuenta con las especialidades de cardiotorácica, cirugía cardiaca y unidad de quemados, tampoco con especialistas suficientes para tratar las enfermedades como diabetes, cáncer y anemia. El cantón Rumiñahui cuenta con 2 camas o camillas de hospitalización por cada 1000 habitantes, mientras que el índice recomendado por la organización mundial de salud es de 9 camas o camillas de hospitalización por 1000 habitantes, lo que justifica que el 71,2% de los habitantes han asistido a un servicio de salud fuera del cantón Rumiñahui por indisponibilidad de atención hospitalaria El cantón Rumiñahui tiene 5,8 médicos por cada 1000 habitantes comparado con el índice de la organización mundial de salud es de 2,3 médicos por cada 1000 habitantes.

RECOMENDACIONES Fortalecer los centros de salud públicos ubicados en las parroquias rurales del cantón Rumiñahui ampliando la gama de especialidades que posee actualmente con el fin de satisfacer de mejor manera a la población minimizando sus gastos que representan transportarse hacia los servicios de salud en el área urbana. Crear sinergia entre el sector público y privado para crear o mejorar los servicios de salud de nivel 2 (con internación hospitalaria de corta estancia) ubicados en puntos estratégicos y accesibles (distancias iguales) para toda la población del cantón Rumiñahui.. Incrementar especialistas en diabetología, cáncer y anemia, a fin de cubrir con la demanda de las dolencias más comunes del cantón, al igual que las especialidades faltantes como cardiotorácica, unidad de quemados y cirugía cardiaca.
