Forster said “If I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country.” Explain whether Songsam, the main character of this story, would agree with this fully, agree with reservations, or disagree with the quotation. Cite details from the story to support your view. 2. Discuss the universal theme that runs through these stories and be prepared to share it with the class (refer to your chart)
