  2. Juniors 10/15 • Warm-up: a. vocabulary (check character charts and summaries from yesterday (P2 and P4 ONLY) b. OR and paperwork • P2 and P4: • P5 and P6: view film, fill in character charts, and write summary HW: OR and paperwork (bring all of these materials tomorrow because you will have a work day in class)

  3. Freshmen 10/15 • Warm-up: OR and paperwork • Share style practice • Practice comparing style (pair) HW: OR and paperwork (bring these things to class tomorrow for the workday) HW: Study for vocabulary test TEST: Monday 10/20

  4. Where We’ve Been… • Identified plot structure and elements of plot—”The Most Dangerous Game” and “The Lottery” (revisit: foreshadowing) • Identified different types of characterization (remember STEAL) and looked at the importance of character motivation—”Thank you, M’am”, “Mother to Son”, and “Marigolds”

  5. Where are we now… • Chapter 3: Narrator and Voice • identified three main types of narration (first person, third person limited, and omniscient) • discussed tone (and how it is different from mood) • started to study style (today compare/contrast styles) • also reviewed plot structure by breaking down the plot of “The Interlopers” • Texts include: “The Necklace” and “The Interlopers”
