  1. Piquet Report Alessandro Cardini 21-29 May 2012

  2. Monday 21st • GEM current problem present: starting analysis  Occasional M1 timing alarms in presenter • Hole in M1A-18A1 FEBs 16, 17, 18 • Strange histograms from THR scan • Oleg manually set THR to 80: initially all ok, now situation is bad • Very few in-time hits, but all counts is only half the “good” FEBs… • One gap in M5A27_gapC (ABCD) almost in short • 7 gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2649 (7h17’): integrated luminosity ~ 9.6 pb-1

  3. Tuesday 22nd • Configuration problem of some boards on C side – restart required at beginning of fill #2651 • Performing some 1% GEM gas variations to measure current sensitivity to gas mixture composition (nominal is Ar/Co2/CF4 45/15/40): • nominal  45/16/39  46/15/39  nominal • Preparing • 8 gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2651 (19h35’): integrated luminosity ~ 24.77 pb-1 (finished 23rd early morning) A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  4. Wednesday 23rd • Oleg performed a small time correction on a few channels(https://lblogbook.cern.ch/MUON/3404) • 4 gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2653 (0h36’): integrated luminosity ~ 0.61 pb-1 • Fill 2657 (5h58’): integrated luminosity ~ 8.02 pb-1 A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  5. Thursday 24th • GEM gas sampling pipes in UXA-A3 and –A1 connected • Starting gas chromatography • No tripped gaps • Fill 2658 (1h21’): integrated luminosity ~ 1.70 pb-1 • Fill 2660 (1h12’): integrated luminosity ~ 1.30 pb-1 A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  6. A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  7. Friday 25th • @15:00: access (https://lblogbook.cern.ch/MUON/3416): • M5A_27A_gapC disconnected • GEM LV problems on M1A18A1 FEBs 16, 17,18: checked LV cables on M1A-18A1 regulators: found two power cable ~disconnected • 3 gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2663 (11h20’): integrated luminosity ~ 15.45 pb-1 A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  8. Saturday 26th • Optimizing GEM working point: new settings is 3x415V (+5V increase) https://lblogbook.cern.ch/MUON/3419 • 2 gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2669 (8h12’): integrated luminosity ~ 8.34 pb-1 A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  9. Sunday 27th • No beam due to cryo failure • GC measurements on GEM gas continue in UXA-A1 (but will have to wait for Roberto for the analysis): • Fresh gas coming from SG building • Return mix from A and C side, with and without beam A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  10. Monday 28th • Cryo recovered (Sunday ~23:00) • New timing recipes for M1R1 loaded by Sandro: -1.5 ns global shift as suggested by Giacomo. Available from fill 2672 • Some more GEM HV tuning: increase transfer fields from 3.0 to 3.5 kV/cm (to be performed) • 3gaps tripped – excluded • Fill 2670 (1h14’): integrated luminosity ~ 1.54 pb-1 • Fill 2671 (7h13’): integrated luminosity ~ 9.65 pb-1 • Fill 2673 (2h46’): integrated luminosity ~ 3.22 pb-1 A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari

  11. Tripped Gaps A. Cardini / INFN Cagliari
